Lara Last Dip. ITEC, CThA

I originally trained as a Graphic Designer and suffered from a lot of neck and back problems plus a lot of stress from constantly meeting deadlines – much like anyone sitting in front of a computer screen within an office environment. Having had this experience I have a very good understanding of demands and pressures in the workplace and the negative effects it can have.  Now, the most satisfying part of my work is when people tell me how much better they feel after their treatment having come to see me with stress symptoms such as muscular pain or anxiety.

With over 12 years experience in massage therapy, my areas of expertise include deep tissue, lymphatic drainage, swedish/relaxation massage, remedial massage, neck pain and chronic headaches, trigger point therapy, and more. I offer massage by appointment in one of my clinic locations, as well on-site Indian Head Massage for businesses.

Since qualifying in 2001, I have treated people with the aim of helping them get to a stage of living without discomfort. I have worked within my local community, the media, Health Fair events, massage in the workplace, and also for the Paul D’Auria Centre (formerly The Cancer Resource Centre) as a Home Visiting Massage Therapist.

My qualifications are ITEC (International Therapy Examination Council) diplomas in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage; Indian Head Massage; Advanced Reflexology; Lymphatic Drainage Massage; Pregnancy Massage; Abdominal Sacral Massage and Japanese Face Massage, Hydrotherm Massage and Warm Bamboo Massage. My post-graduate training at Brighton’s JING Institute of Advanced Massage has given me a high level of knowledge, expertise and skills in using the most up-to-date, cutting edge techniques from the USA and further afield.

I am a full member of Embody and is required to attend seminars, workshops and maintain professional development training to ensure the highest of professional standards.

My clients have come to me after being recommended and referred, my aim is to move you out of discomfort in 1 – 6 sessions. If you don’t feel an improvement in that time, I can refer you for ongoing care as I work closely with other healthcare professionals.

I strongly believe that massage forms part of a regular, maintenance routine and that everyone can benefit from taking time to promote their own health and well being.
